The UK’s Covid-19 vaccination roll-out generated notable success resulting from the speed of vaccine distribution. In the early stages of the programme, however, there was uncertainty regarding supply of the Pfizer vaccine and implications for wastage given most PCNs did not have access to –70C freezers. This was coupled with a lack of experience in rolling out such programmes at the required pace and limited national guidance. Primary Care Networks (PCNs) required a tool to help them plan and track their local vaccine delivery against expected demand and capacity.
