We were delighted to walk away with three project category award wins, including the prestigious Project of the year award, and a highly commended individual award at the MCA Awards 2022! The Project of the Year award goes to the project that the judges believe most powerfully illustrates the positive impact and quality of modern consulting, so we are thrilled, especially as we approach our 10th anniversary as a company next year, to be recognised for our significant impact in Health and Care.

The MCA is the Management Consultancies Association which acts as the voice of the consulting industry and represents the UK’s leading management consultancy firms. The MCA awards is an annual event celebrating the value and impact of consulting in both the private and public sector.

This year CF were shortlisted for awards in three project categories and three individual categories, after the MCA received a record number of entries.

A summary of our winning projects:

Winner of Project of the Year and Performance Improvement in the Public Sector – NHS England Breast Screening Recovery Programme

The impact of Covid-19 on the National Breast Screening Programme presented the largest and most complex challenge it had ever faced. Over 9 months, CF worked closely with the NHSE Public Health Commissioning Team to tackle this challenge, using data and targeted interventions to support the programmes aim to provide women across England with early breast cancer diagnosis. This work led to a significant reduction in the number of women waiting for screening since October 2020.

Winner of Strategy – North Central London Community and Mental Health

CF were commissioned to develop the strategy for the future of Community and Mental Health services in North Central London. We worked in partnership with stakeholders to understand the case for change, to agree what the service offer for NCL residents should be, and to plan for implementation. The strategy set out will deliver a new, transformational service offer for NCL residents that is both consistent and equitable.

Highly commended for Team Leader Consultant of the Year – Will Browne

Will, an Associate Partner at CF, leads our Data Innovation practice and has generated immense value for CF, our teams and our clients by championing ground-breaking leading tools.

Having worked in both tech start-ups and consultancy, Will believes there is huge potential in bringing the two approaches together to accelerate innovation in the NHS, overcome health inequalities and deliver measurable improvements for patients. He has built up a team of data scientists, software engineers, UX designers and product managers working alongside traditional consultants. Together, the team have been able to tackle some of the most challenging and urgent problems in the NHS.

Over the last two years, Will has led the development of award-winning software to help London NHS region respond to the pandemic, democratised the covid vaccination data to narrow the inequalities gap between ethnic groups and developed statistical models that quantify health inequalities across the UK.

Congratulations to all of our CF colleagues and client teams that led us to success and have helped to make a significant and lasting impact in the NHS! Thank you to the Management Consultancies Association for such an enjoyable evening and well done to all the finalists; the room was full of inspiring talent and it was great to hear about the incredible impact our consulting colleagues have had across an array of industries.
