On August 16th 2023, Maria Caulfield MP published a letter to Professor Dame Jenny Harries, Chief Executive of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). This correspondence sets out the priorities for the UKHSA from April 2023 to March 2024.

The UKHSA is an executive agency of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) that is responsible for protecting the community from infectious diseases, chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incidents, other environmental hazards, and health hazards arising from disasters. The UKHSA’s annual priorities and business plan is developed in consultation with the DHSC. For the period of April 2023 to March 2024, the agency has committed to maintaining 7 core functions and achieving 5 key deliverables.
