Dr Simon Munk, Consultant at Carnall Farrar brings clinical and operational expertise across our projects in acute, mental health and children’s community services. He excels in clinical engagement, as well as integration of health and care sectors, commissioning, operational delivery and service evaluation. He has a particular passion for early intervention and translating evidence into practice.
Recently, he has led client engagement work to support acute, community and primary care demand and capacity planning during the Covid crisis
Prior to joining Carnall Farrar, Simon practiced for eight years as a medical clinician in the UK and New Zealand, principally working as an anaesthetist and intensive care doctor and more recently in mental health and paediatrics. Over the last five years, he moved into operational and strategic leadership taking on a range of positions in children’s mental health including CYP mental health commissioner across Newham Local Authority and CCG, and Head of Service for an East London early intervention mental health service. He has a track record of bringing together and collaborating with senior stakeholders from the health, education and social care sectors. He has developed, implemented and evaluated large innovative services and has secured and managed large grants and commissioned complex NHS community services. He has been a regular speaker at national policy and research forums.
